Inspired by Nature

Jamie Orr is an abstract artist based in Rockaway Beach, New York.
Paying attention to small nuances in nature’s design; a pattern on a shell, the texture of a rock, the way the sea sculpts the sand, these inspirations, or small discoveries, make their way into Jamie’s work. They are evident in the way she experiments with texture and mark making and her use of colour, all tell a story of the natural beauty around her.

Where We Helped

BRAND IDENTITY - BUSINESS STATIONERY - website consultation

We felt that Jamie’s brand identity should also be part of this natural narrative and to explore and illustrate the sources of inspiration of her work.
We created an organic colour palette with strong connections to the beach; kelp green, sand beige, sea mist, stone grey and beach fire charcoal.
We added an illustrative element to the logo, and unidentifiable botanical stem, which could either come from land or sea. We chose a modern, simple logo typeface and manipulated this to add some extra points of interest.

Working with Sophie was a dream! From our first meeting, I could tell that this was going to be a great partnership. Sophie was kind, patient and really listened as I described my vision. The entire process was smooth, quick and fun. Even though there was a time difference with me in the US, I never felt like it was a hurdle in our ability to communicate quickly back and forth. Sophie’s attention to detail and care really shined through in the end result. I’m so happy with my branding and feel much more confident now that everything is neatly tied together in a way that truly represents my artwork & business.
